Pearland Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. (PVFD) is a non-profit organization that is contracted by the City of Pearland to provide volunteer fire department personnel resources.

Volunteer Membership

Pearland Fire Department currently has approximately 65 volunteer members. The volunteers supplement the career staff during the day and night.

The Pearland Volunteer Fire Department is always recruiting individuals who have a commitment to the community and can contribute the necessary time to become a professional-class firefighter with our department.

How to Join

No prior experience is necessary. We will provide all training, personal protective equipment (PPE) and pagers at no cost to you. Persons accepted into the department will be on probation for six months and will be required to participate in the Probationary Training Program (PTP) Academy. The Academy consists of 126 hours of training and is held on Monday and Thursday nights for three hours as well as some Saturdays for eight hours.

Minimum requirements:

18+ years of age
High School graduate or GED
Clean driving record
Clean criminal record
Reliable transportation
Valid driver’s license
Proof of liability insurance for your vehicle
